Weight Loss And Starvation


Are you starving yourself to obesity? Yes as much shocking and weird as it sounds it is true! You are fooling yourself if you think starving will help you achieve your dream body. Haven't we all come across people who are on perpetual dieting but still never seem to shed even a gram?

Starvation works on your body in two ways:

Starving activates the stored glucose in our body and starts using it. The fat stored in our body on the other hand is unfit to be used in times of immediate need as it takes a very long time to be brought into use.

Hence it is clear that when you starve you don't lose fat in fact you lose all the backup of energy resources made by your body.

Also our body is like a robot. It observes and follows. A starved body gets used to surviving in smaller portions thus it immediately absorbs and stores food thus doing the exact opposite of what you aimed at doing by starving yourself. Besides weight gain not eating for long durations may lead to gall bladder stones and a body very low on basic minerals and essential nutrients.

A starved body takes longer to satiate as compared to a normal one. This again leads to eating more, accumulating more hence gaining more weight. Count your blessings not your calories. People with different metabolism rate may consume same number of calories in a day but their bodies would react differently. So there is no point counting calories. Eat healthy eat right and stay healthy and stay light.
